Speaker Biography: Michelle Jewer, joined the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador in 2000 at the Office of the Auditor General. Since that time, she has held several financial leadership positions in Government across various departments including the Department of Education, the Department of Health and Community Services, Department of Finance and Treasury Board Secretariat. Ms. Jewer has held the role of Comptroller General, the Secretary to the Treasury Board (Acting) with the Treasury Board Secretariat and was appointed as Deputy Minister of the Department of Finance in September of 2021. Ms. Jewer holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Co-operative) from Memorial University and is a Chartered Professional Accountant. |
